Look at that mad face. I love it so, even though this little owl now says she wants to wear the cheap polyester orange-and-black witch costume her grandmother sent in the mail yesterday for Halloween instead. (She's only 3, but she already knows how to break her mother's heart).
Sigh. So this owl costume I laboured over may be for naught — unless, of course, I win Burdastyle.com's Halloween costume contest. Please vote for me: http://www.burdastyle.com/gallery/275?page=181
I could use the cash prize to pay off my recent moving expenses ...or buy 200 yards of fabric (from Metro Textile Corp., where everything I like is only $5/yard). Also: my husband really needs a new pair of shoes. I'm sick of looking at his cracked soles.
Double-sigh. She wants to be a witch now. Can you believe it? My husband told me to ignore it, and maybe she'll forget by the weekend.

Or, could you be mean like me and make the witch costume mysteriously disappear. Don't mention it, till she asks for it, and then, oops, you just can't find it. Where oh where did it go? Yes, I am chucking change in the jar for future therapy right now.

ReplyDeleteI voted for you! Very cute costume! Don't worry about this witch costume, just offer her to change costumes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the votes!! Danielle, tonight Lucy told me she wants to be a cookie now. Damn kid.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should tell her how much WARMER the owl costume is. I can remember having to go back home one time because my cheap polyester witch costume wasn't warm enough. People just won't give you candy if your lips have turned blue :(
