Anyway, I'm starting this blog to share my sewing, crafting and otherwise creative pursuits with likeminded people. It's my hope that I can incorporate making things into each day, which will encourage my daughter, six-month-old Lucienne, to use her hands and imagination to shape the world around her. A blog like this will force me to document the things we make, and share the details with others. I've learned so much and gleaned so much inspiration from other moms' blogs. It's kind of greedy to just quietly lurk in the background, reading and admiring, downloading and coveting. (What I covet most is the lighting in those crafty mom bloggers' homes. We live in a batcave. My daughter closes her eyes when we go outside.) So I want to give back: post patterns I have designed, tutorials for the few things I do well, and otherwise open a little window onto our life here in Inwood, the northernmost neighbourhood in Manhattan.
p.s. I snapped that photo in Winnipeg in the spring of 2006. Hilarious.
